Villa’s Tacos Opens Its First Location Outside Los Angeles at Durango Casino

Villa’s Tacos has spent years building a devoted Los Angeles following, and for the first time ever, it has crossed state lines, landing inside Durango Casino & Resort in southwest Las Vegas.

From a Grandmother’s Front Yard to a Michelin Recommendation

Villa’s Tacos opened August 15, 2026, at 11am inside the Eat Your Heart Out food hall at Durango Casino & Resort, occupying the space formerly home to Fiorella. It marks the first location outside Los Angeles for Chef and Owner Victor Villa, whose taqueria began in 2018 selling tacos from the front yard of his grandmother’s home in the Highland Park neighborhood of northeast LA. He moved to pickup orders during the pandemic before opening a brick-and-mortar location in a modest Highland Park strip center in early 2023. Since then, the Michelin Guide has recognized the taqueria with a Bib Gourmand designation for outstanding value, and Villa himself appeared alongside Bad Bunny during the singer’s opening Super Bowl 60 halftime number, “Tití Me Preguntó,” which spotlighted iconic businesses from Latino communities. Bad Bunny handed Villa a piragua shaved ice on camera as Villa stood behind a grill bearing his taqueria’s name.

What to Order

Villa’s Tacos built its reputation on tacos “Estilo Los Angeles,” anchored by homemade blue corn tortillas and a signature crispy Monterey Jack cheese skirt. Guests can choose from signature tacos, queso tacos, and mulitas, filled with Ranchera Asada, wood-fired Al Pastor cooked on a traditional trompo, Pierna de Pollo, Chorizo de Puerco, Grilled Soyrizo, Papas a la Plancha, or Frijoles con Nopal for vegetarian options. Every selection is finished with guacamole, crema, cotija, onion, and cilantro, and served with radishes and lime wedges. Specialty Sampler Trios are also available for guests who want to try multiple proteins in one order.

The Line Started Before the Ribbon Was Even Cut

The opening celebration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by live mariachi music from 11am to 3pm, and the first 100 guests in line received a complimentary “Villas Trio” plate along with additional surprises. The location operates counter-service, no reservations required; guests walk up and order like any taco stand. Villa’s Tacos joins Durango’s broader Phase III expansion, which has continued adding new dining, entertainment, and gaming offerings to the southwest Las Vegas property.
