The Vatican Ceiling at Eye Level for the First Time
Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition opened April 24, 2026 at The Shops at Crystals at 3720 S Las Vegas Blvd, inside the CityCenter complex. Presented by SBX Group and SEE Global Entertainment, the same team behind Princess Diana and The Royals: The Exhibition, which TripAdvisor recognized as one of the top 10 percent of attractions worldwide, the Sistine Chapel exhibition has welcomed millions of visitors across its global touring run before landing in Las Vegas as a permanent installation.
The premise is straightforward but the execution is genuinely impressive. Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling between 1508 and 1512 at a height of roughly 65 feet. Anyone who has visited the actual chapel in Vatican City knows the experience: craning your neck upward in a crowd of thousands, guards hushing the room every few minutes, the scale of the work visible but the detail almost entirely lost at that distance. The Las Vegas exhibition solves that problem. All 34 frescoes are reproduced at full scale using Vatican-licensed high-definition printing technology and displayed at floor level, within arm’s reach, in rooms designed to let you stand directly in front of brushwork that has been invisible to the public for 500 years. The exhibition runs at your own pace with a free audio guide walking you through each section, with no crowds, no time pressure, and no neck strain.
“For those who have never been to Rome, or even for those who have, this is a rare opportunity to experience the power, scale, and beauty of Michelangelo’s genius right here in Las Vegas,” said Martin Biallas, CEO of SEE Global Entertainment, at the Las Vegas opening.
What You Walk Through Inside
The 25,000-square-foot exhibition moves through a series of interconnected rooms, each dedicated to a different section of Michelangelo’s work in the Sistine Chapel. The nine central panels from Genesis, including The Creation of Adam, the most reproduced painting in human history, anchor the first section and are displayed at a scale that lets you see the full composition and the individual figure details simultaneously. The surrounding ancestor lunettes, the prophets and sibyls, and the ignudi are all present in full.
Three life-size sculptural representations are positioned throughout: Michelangelo’s David, reproduced at the same scale as the original in the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence; Moses, from the tomb of Pope Julius II in Rome; and the Pietà, the marble masterpiece housed in St. Peter’s Basilica. All three are works most visitors have never seen at this scale and proximity outside of their original locations.
The Last Judgment Room is the final and most powerful space in the exhibition. A cathedral-like environment with pews and immersive sound, it surrounds visitors with Michelangelo’s 1536 to 1541 fresco of the second coming of Christ and the final judgment of souls. The scale, the sound design, and the lighting are designed to evoke the experience of sitting in the Sistine Chapel itself rather than simply looking at a reproduction. Seating is available throughout the exhibition for guests who want to spend extended time with any section of the work.

A New Way to Experience One of the World’s Greatest Masterpieces
The Las Vegas exhibition is the opposite: a self-paced, uncrowded, audio-guided walk through the same material at a scale and proximity that creates an entirely different engagement with the work. It is also genuinely accessible to a much wider audience. A family that cannot afford or schedule a trip to Italy can walk through the complete Sistine Chapel for $28 per child. A group of art students can spend two hours in the Last Judgment Room. A first-time visitor to Las Vegas who has never engaged with Renaissance art before can follow the audio guide through 500 years of context and walk out knowing significantly more than they arrived with.
The exhibition is also one of the strongest daytime options on the Strip, running 60 to 90 minutes for most visitors and ending well before the evening entertainment circuit begins. Pairing it with lunch at ARIA or a walk through the Bellagio Conservatory makes for a complete afternoon without ever leaving the CityCenter-to-Bellagio corridor.
