Municipal Gym opens in Downtown Summerlin this winter.
Mark Wahlberg Lives Here and He Built This for the Community
Municipal Gym, powered by EoS Fitness, is coming to Downtown Summerlin at the former Bed Bath and Beyond space on Summa Drive, along the southwestern edge of the outdoor shopping complex at Sahara Avenue and the 215 Beltway. Construction is underway as of April 2026, building permits are pulled, signage is installed, and the website confirms a winter 2026 opening. This is the first Municipal Gym location anywhere in the country.
Mark Wahlberg has lived in Summerlin since 2022, and his presence in the Las Vegas business community has been deliberate and expanding. He opened Flecha Cantina at Town Square. He is a driving force behind the proposed Sony Entertainment film studio in Summerlin. And he announced Municipal Gym via Instagram in fall 2024, standing outside the future space to describe the concept in his own words: “This is the first time in history that luxury and serious fitness meet. Recovery, rejuvenation therapy, juice bars, cafes, retail stores, only the best vitamins and supplements for you.” The project is a partnership with EoS Fitness, a Las Vegas-based gym operator with more than 90 locations nationwide that brings operational infrastructure to Wahlberg’s vision.

What Is Inside: The Full Amenity Breakdown
Municipal Gym is designed around two equally weighted experiences: serious training and serious recovery. The concept acknowledges something most gyms do not address: what you do after the workout is as important as the workout itself. The 32,064-square-foot space reflects that philosophy throughout, with dedicated zones for both sides of the equation.
Fitness and Training
State-of-the-art workout equipment across a full-scale training floor. Wahlberg has described the target audience specifically: “Guys from the Raiders, gals from the Aces, and somebody who’s never been in the gym before.” The programming is designed to work across fitness levels from complete beginners to elite athletes, with classes and group training expected alongside open gym access. Specific class formats and scheduling will be confirmed closer to opening.
Recovery Center
The recovery offering is the most distinctive part of what Municipal Gym brings to Summerlin. The full confirmed lineup includes:

A full-service café and juice bar will serve pre- and post-workout nutrition. Retail will carry the MUNICIPAL sportswear line alongside vitamins and supplements. Wahlberg has described “big, crazy collabs” as part of the retail and programming plan, with specific partnerships to be announced. A community platform is planned where members can document and share their progress, with Wahlberg describing his intention to recognize members’ work publicly.
The Downtown Summerlin Location Makes This Accessible to the Whole Valley
Downtown Summerlin sits at Sahara Avenue and the 215 Beltway, making it one of the most centrally accessible points in the Las Vegas Valley. Summerlin residents are the immediate audience, but the 215 interchange puts the gym within a reasonable drive from the northwest valley, Chinatown, Henderson, and Spring Valley. Parking is free throughout the Downtown Summerlin complex. The gym sits next to Boot Barn on Summa Drive, on the southwestern edge of the shopping complex.
Downtown Summerlin itself has been expanding significantly, with a wave of new tenants joining in 2025 and 2026 including Alo’s first off-Strip location, Skin Laundry’s first Las Vegas location, BYLT Premium Basics, Roche Bobois Paris, Pop Mart, and Paris Baguette. Municipal Gym arrives in a center that is actively growing its fitness and lifestyle footprint alongside its retail and dining mix.
